During the year share balances and retail savings increased by £65 million and gross mortgage lending was £84 million as against £60 million in 2009. Less than 0.18% of borrowers were 3 months or more in arrears. Only 1% of the funding required was wholesale funding.

Management expenses as a percentage of mean total assets dropped to 0.79% from 0.80% the previous year.
