Looking at the financial results for the Market Harborough Building Society it is very noticeable how even though the results showed a drop in profits for the members the directors felt it acceptable to increase directors pay.

During the year share balances and retail savings increased by £16.4 million and gross mortgage lending was 2.80% higher than in 2009.

Management expenses as a percentage of mean total assets dropped to 1.01% from 1.04% the previous year.
